Ice Blocking

Camille decided on Labor Day we needed to go ice blocking as a family. Byron & Tanner were going to be fishing with my uncle in the morning, so I decided this was the best time to go. Camille got a tub that had toys in it downstairs and filled it up with water to make her own ice block. I also purchased 2 other ones from the gas station. We headed to Centennial Park which has some great hills for this type of thing. Melissa also joined us for the fun.

The concept of ice blocking was foreign for my children - they couldn't understand the excitement of getting on a piece of ice and going down a hill. They soon changed their tune once they got their first run. We had a great time. We all had so much fun laughing at everyone's attempts to stay on the ice. We had a lot of run away ice, many sore bottoms, falling off, and creative children with how they went down. We stayed for about 1 1/2 hours and will have to try this activity again.

It looks like so much fun. I have heard of it but never tried it.
What a great family activity.

Oh that looks like a lot of fun! If you want to go again there is a park over by the Bink"s house that has HUGE hills you can really get going on!
