Camille Girl's Camp - Heber Valley

Camille attended Girl's Camp on June 13-17th.  She always loves going and probably loves being with only girl's for a change:).  She attended Heber Valley Camp this year with the Stake as a 4th year.  Their theme was "Incredigirls."

They put on a skit as wards and our ward's skit was about super villains having group therapy.  Camille played the "Joker" and her issue was putting pencils in people's foreheads.

Our ward singing together.
Camille enjoying canoes with Britlyn Hauver and Cara Sabin.
Julia Ivy and Camille doing a trust activity as they were leaning onto each other walking on wire.
Our amazing Bishopric decided to make a 10 foot long banana boat.  They brought up a specially made drain pipe to place the banana boat inside.  All of the girls helped make it as they added yummy toppings - chocolate marble ice-cream, bananas, cookies, chocolate, carmel, cool whip, etc.  They called it the "pig trough" as most of them just ate straight out of the container.  The Bishop used the ice-cream scooper to eat.  They didn't even come close to eating it all.

The whole crew - all of the girl's with our awesome Bishopric - Brother Rindlisbacher, Bishop Jensen & Brother Willden.
Camille also was so excited - while they were eating lunch a moose came into their camp and was about 10 feet away.  This was the first time she had seen one before.  Luckily it was a baby and was just grazing.

Highland Water park and scouting

We enjoyed some water time in Highland with Allyson, Rose, Myles & Eliza back in June.  The kids all had such a fun time.

Tanner was the Patrol Leader in his den and was in charge of a skit for the Court of Honor.  We all had a good laugh.  Here he is doing the skit with Josh Owens and Kobe Mickelson.  Tanner also received his 2nd and 1st class ranks.  He is doing so awesome and has such amazing leaders to help him towards receiving his Eagle.
Carter & Parker also received their Wolf at Pack Meeting on June 16th.  They had worked hard and love being in scouting (Parker without his neckerchief).

Good old scouting cheers - can't beat them:)!!!
Johnathan also received his Webelos - a great night for the Beck Boys!

Carter & Parker's 9th Birthay

How blessed I am to have these two boys in our home!  They bring so much excitement, energy, comedy, and fun to our lives.  What a fun way to spend life with a twin right beside you.  They really do get along so well and have a special bond between them even if they don't always get along.  I love walking into their room at night to see them both in the same bed.  Or when one is hurt how the other runs over to comfort them.  I also love to hear how great they are together in school from their teachers and how if one is struggling with something, the other will help them.  They even loose their front teeth around the exact same time:).  Love these two!!!
Monday they woke up to donuts.  We had a family party that evening.   (Carter-white, Parker-blue)
Carter with his bear cake.
 Parker with his scary cake.
We played some fun games - one was a relay race with the kids where they had to put on certain clothing items, walk around the chair and then take them all off before handing off to the next person.  There were some pretty funny moments.  They all seemed to have a fun time.

The next game was trying to pop a balloon behind you and your partner's back.  Now this was down right hilarious!  The facial expressions were great.

 Johnathan & Cameron
Byron & Melissa trying with no luck.
They got some awesome presents from everybody. (Carter &  Parker)
Parker & Carter enjoying their cake.
The next night we had fun with their friend party. Luckily they both have pretty much the same friends, so they invited 4 boys.  It started out with roasting hot dogs for dinner.  These crazy boys were having way too much fun!
Then we headed out to the Legacy Center to enjoy some swimming.  I loved sitting on the side watching them all.  Luckily the water area isn't too deep so even those that can't swim very well were able to have as much fun as those they did know how to swim.

Sister/Mom Get-A-Way

On June 10th-12th we had our first Beck Sister's Retreat.  Unfortunately only 3 of the 7 could attend - Melissa, Mom Beck and I.  We left early Friday morning and headed down to St. George.  The weather was gorgeous!  Our first stop was at the Deseret Industries.  It was fun to go in with a group of girls and look for different clothes.  I tried on a few skirts and felt like I had my own cheer squad outside of the dressing room.  I definitely prefer that over my children's comments:).

It was so relaxing and enjoyable to do whatever we wanted without any children.  I was so anxious and ready for this small vacation.  We spent the afternoon walking around the outlet mall.  We ate dinner at a really yummy place called "25 Main."  The food was so good and hit the spot.

That evening we were able to attend "Little Mermaid" at the Tuacahn theater.  We ended up getting tickets too late so we were all on separate aisle's but had perfect tickets.  We were in the middle bottom half and felt like we were front and center.  The show was absolutely AMAZING!  I was in awe from the moment the water went across the stage at the beginning of the show to the very end.  The music was so awesome also (especially the new songs that were made for the musical).  The actors/actresses were great!  I kept on thinking how much my children and Byron would love coming.  The show started when it became dark, so it was pretty late when it ended (around 12:15 a.m.).

The next morning we went down to the St. George Farmer's Market.  There wasn't really much to see, but it was fun walking around to some fun booths.  We had fun going into a few shops downtown.  We also went and toured Brigham Young's summer home and Jacob Hamblin's home.  Both were excellent tours and so full of information.  I can't believe I have driven past St. George so much in my life and never remember being on either of these tours.  I need to take my children - they would find them fascinating.

We woke up early Sunday morning to get back.  The previous day, Mom Beck and I secretly bought some donuts for Melissa since it was her birthday.  We even bought candles and a lighter.  Unfortunately that morning neither of us could figure out how to use the lighter, so we had to go without the fire:).   Melissa is such an awesome person!  I feel like I have known her forever.  I love spending time with her or just talking about whatever.  She is very knowledgeable and one of the most Christ-like people I know.  My children love her and can't get enough of "Aunt Melissa" when she comes down to visit.  It was fun to spend the weekend with her and Mom Beck getting to know them both better.

I made it back in time for the Stake Conference where Bishop Burton came to speak to us.

In front of Brigham Young's summer home.  Interesting fact, when they were painting the home, they ordered a large amount of a certain color of paint.  When they opened it up, it was a dark green color.  Instead of wasting they used it and offered it to the Saints all over the area.  So during that time many homes were this same color.
Jacob Hamblin's home - Byron loves to tell the story of Jacob's son buying blankets from the Indians and how trustworthy he was.  It was fun to learn more about his amazing man.

The St. George temple is absolutely GORGEOUS especially at night.  We enjoyed walking around the temple grounds.

I am definitely looking forward to our next retreat and hopefully getting each sister to attend also.
