July random pictures

Bradley saved up his money for a while for a kite.  He was so excited when the day finally came to go and purchase it.  He immediately went outside and tried to fly it.  Unfortunately that day there was pretty much no wind at all so the only flying was when we were running up and down the sidewalk.  The following day, however, had some pretty good wind so a perfect day to fly the kite.  He had so much fun going up and down our sidewalk.  At one point, he was sitting on our grass in the front yard with the string almost of the way out.  The kite was flying so high above our house.  He had such a great time.

Now this is the way to fly a kite- laying down with an otter pop.

For our Father's Day/Mother's Day/Birthday gifts to both Dad & Mom Beck, we decided to get them a Trafalga pass so we could go with them once in a while.  Carter & Parker were at Camp Jeremiah for scouts, so they didn't end up going with us.  We had fun spending a day at the Orem Trafalga playing miniature golf, batting cages, simulated 4D movie and the slick track.

Unfortunately they only had the single cars out, so Camille was the only child allowed to ride on them.  Us girls did, however have fun riding around alone.

Parker & Carter home from Camp Jeremiah with their fun swords.  They had such a great time.  Since being released from scouts, it was weird to not participate with them.
Byron got this massive bruise while playing soccer with the Deacons at a weekly activity.  One of the boys that was into it a little too much kicked Byron's leg accidentally.  Poor Byron's leg didn't look the same for over a month and was very painful.  He ended up going on the airplane right after this happened and it became more sore from all of the sitting down that he did.
We had Jeff & Emily's kids spend the night while Byron was on a business trip.  They always have such a fun time together.  They had fun playing cards, legos, Wii and anything else they could think of. Cameron, Johnathan, Parker, Ashlyn, Alyssa & Carter.

We spent a day at Liberty Park with Allyson, Eliza, Rose, and Myles.  It was a warm day, so the water was the perfect way to cool off.

Byron went to Shanghai from July 16-21st.  It was so fun to have him home.  We enjoyed some water with him home.  Boys having WAY TOO MUCH FUN with water!

Byron told the kids at dinner time about having a large fort as a kid.  He gathered wood from all over to create this large fort.  Him and his friends also found a peacock and had it live in the fort for quite some time.  The boys were totally engrossed with this story and decided to create their own fort in our backyard.  Byron gave them some extra pieces of wood and they set to work.  Seriously the whole day was spent building and playing in it.  I hadn't seen my boys so anxiously engaged in something like this for quite some time - I guess anything with wood, nails and hammers will bring this out in you:).  After it was built - seriously 4ft x 4 ft - (pretty small, but amazing what they fit into that small space).  They brought in chairs, electricity to have a DVD player, a fan and many blankets.  They had so much fun.  (above - Tanner, Johnathan, Bradley & Parker)
Here is Carter showing off the fun fort.

Tanner Scout Camp

I have decided that in order to get caught up on my blog sometime in the next year, I have to just go ahead and add posts with pictures, then come back as time permits and write about them.  I have forgotten so much of the details from 7 months ago that I need to start with more current posts so I don't forget them also.  Hopefully this blog will finally start coming together.

I also need to get pictures of Tanner's Scout Camp from a leader, so am currently waiting for those.

Johnathan & Camille's birthdays

This is the year of the kids having friend birthday parties.  I loved seeing what Johnathan wanted to do for his  friend party.  He was toying with the idea of swimming and bowling, but eventually chose bowling.  He invited Tyler Atwood, Cameron, and Jackson Eastmond. We started out by heading to Jack and Jill Bowling in Lehi.  The new theater is really nice and a fun place to have a party.  I bought a pepperoni pizza for the boys also.  They all had a great time.  I love that Johnathan had such a small group - it was so much more fun and more time with each boy.   Tyler took the lead with 91, Cameron bowled an 84, and Jackson & Johnathan tied for last with 82.

After bowling, we went back to the house for presents and treats.  I am so glad that he has such great friends and a cousin that lives so close.  Johnathan is such a great kid!

We also had a joint family party for Johnathan & Camille (on July 11th).  We played "Name that Tune" with some songs I had copied onto a CD.  It was a lot of fun to see how many songs everybody actually knew.

Johnathan got a football field cake - it was full of candy - just what he wanted:).

Camille wanted a key lime pie and I was very happy about that.  I loved that it was store bought - my style after spending so much time on Johnathan's:).
On Camille's birthday, she had a friend party.  She had 5 girls come.  They are so easy at this age - they sat around talking about boys and life since they had not seen each other in about 1 month.  They also played "The Name Game" and "Name that Tune."

Bradley cracks me up.  He didn't want to go downstairs where the boys were hanging out.  He had to be where all of the excitement was.  He LOVED being with Camille's friends and had no problem sitting on the arm of the couch right next to them and the girls loved it.  I had him leave once and he was so distraught.  He is my little social bug.
Camille wanted to have sherbet dessert - it was also a huge hit among her friends.
