Adamson Family Reunion

June 23-25th was our turn to be in charge of the Adamson Family Reunion.  Janessa decided it would be nice to have a 40th anniversary party for my parent's the previous year.  Since we wanted to make sure the reunion still happened every year, we made it a 2 day event and made the 3rd day a preparing/party day.  After many hours of looking at areas for the reunion, we decided to keep it simple by sleeping at our house each night and going to the North Stake's property during the day.

The 6 months leading up to this event included many conference calls with the siblings planning the party.  I was put in charge of the show part that night.  Luckily I have some very talented siblings who all took charge with their assignments and planned an amazing event.

Wednesday - June 22 - Dad & Mom arrived.  We had a great time playing games and enjoying their company.  We introduced them to "Banana grams" and they loved it.  They ended up buying the game after returning home.

Thursday - June 23 - We loved having the family start arriving.  We had a fun day of family arriving throughout the day.  We headed over to the pavilion and enjoyed having hot dogs over the fire pit.  Afterwards, we enjoyed a game of kickball.  We had such an awesome time! Everybody, except for Allyson, Dad & Mom - participated in the game.
Carter enjoying his chips.

Blake being adorable - he is eating some watermelon.

Parker, Blake, Bradley & Jade

After dinner we enjoyed a fun game of kickball.  I haven't played this game since I was in school and had such a fun time.  Definitely a great group game with young and older.  The only part I hated was that I had on sandals and after a while my feet started to kill.

Carter taking his turn on a base.
Dad & Mom took turns sharing stories to all of us children/grandchildren.  They told us how they met - very fun to hear it in their own words.  I was learning new things that I hadn't remembered before.  Dad also told us the firecracker story while we all had a good laugh.
The younger children all enjoying some play dough time - Jade, Rachel, Rose, Bradley & Tavis.
Heading back to the house - the truck was the place to be - Tanner, Rachel, Carter, Parker, Johnathan, Michael, Bradley & Camille.
The older kids enjoyed sleeping outside - Carter & Parker
Rebekah & Camille - they made sure we had turned off the sprinklers so they weren't surprised the following morning.
Johnathan

Friday - June 24 - We headed back to the church property to have some yummy breakfast  - the Couch's and Adam ended up arriving around 11 a.m. in the morning.  Mark flew in and arrived around noon.  It was so fun to finally have all of the family together.  Dallin ended up coming later that day and Paul unfortunately couldn't make it at all.
Kids enjoying some fruit loop necklaces - Tavis, Bradley, Parker & Myles.
Cute Eliza enjoying the car.

Most of the cousins together before the treasure hunt that Camille planned. Tanner, Michael, Bradley, Parker, Johnathan, Rebekah, Rose, Jade, Camille, Carter, Myles, Tavis, Elizabeth, Joshua & Eliza.

Grandpa holding Eliza while the rest of the kids were on the treasure hunt.
Treasure hunt - Camille had them walking from one end of the field to the other as they went hunting for clues.

Finally finding the treasure in the fire pit.
Johnathan with his necklace.
When Byron & I were planning this reunion, we wanted to have something new and exciting since we were going to be at a park for most of it.  We came across a fun idea to have a blow up water slide.  Thanks to Dad & Mom, we ended up renting it all afternoon.  The set up was very quick and the kids enjoyed watching as they were exciting to try it out.  The kids got more water and sun then they knew what to do with.  It was a hit for all ages.  I loved when the kids were banned for about 30 minutes so the adults could enjoy some time alone.  I got pretty daring after going feet first to attempt the face first - it was so much fun.

Michael & Johnathan didn't think it was necessary to get sunscreen and paid for it all evening and through out the next day - I had never seen such red skin:(.

The small pool was set up for those that were more afraid of the large slide.  Myles and Rose enjoyed playing in it.
Parker & Byron after going down together.
Rose & Jade enjoying some cousin play time.
We tried out some ice blocking.  Bradley & Tavis braved the hill.

Camille the pro.
Mom even tried and had some fun reactions while going down :).
Ashley jumping rope with a lot of the cousins.  Dad and Byron were great sports to turn the rope for this activity.

Blake & Calvin are a couple of months apart and so adorable.  It was fun being around such small babies after mine have all seemed to grow up on me.
Hailey and Bradley having fun together.
We had to get a group shot - luckily Ryan Binks came down and was nice enough to take it for us.

That evening we had a talent show and wanted every family to be represented.  It was fun to hear jokes, songs, or see dancing - we have quite the family talent.

Ryan came along that evening with Mark.
Hailey sang "Baby Baby" from Justin Bieber and Lindsay & Ashley danced.  They did a great job!
 Carter told a joke.
Camille sang "Don't Rain on My Parade."
Rachel sang "L O V E" from Michael Buble.  She did awesome as Elizabeth helped her in the background.
Dad & Mom doing their talent -
I love my family and am so grateful we get together to have this reunion every year.  My children just love the time they have with the cousins especially since we don't live by most of them.
