Johnathan's Eagle Project

Johnathan asked the local elementary school, Sego Lily, if they had any Eagle Projects that they would like to have done.  Of course the principal jumped on this and wanted Johnathan to help her with a new program they would be doing in the school for the 2014-15 school year.  It was an "Anti-bullying program."  Johnathan's part was to create a mailbox to have in every classroom that the kids could leave messages in if they were dealing with bullying.  Since this was a new program, we also needed to come up with an idea for the look.  Mrs. Johnson had suggested using tree stumps that were hallowed out.  She wanted them to have a certain look like you would see in a show about Trolls with leaves on them and wood.  Since we figured that would be way too hard, we went with the pvc pipe instead, spray painting them, and covering them with fake leaves and moss.  Johnathan had to make a prototype first to get it approved, then make 50 more of them.  He is such a great leader and really motivated.  He took this project under his wings and did a fabulous job.  After a few ideas and trying to make things work, we finally had a finished product.  Then the fun part of replicating them.  He had some great helpers come over and also his family to make this all happen.  There were 13 different people who helped him for a total of 72.5 hours.  On August 22 we took all of the mailboxes to Sego Lily to present them to Mrs. Johnson.  What a great feeling to have this done and for these kids to use through out the school year.  Yeah - one more project done.

Johnathan sanding down the PVC pipe along with Matthew Lemon and his brothers.  Tad Jacobs joined them for the fun spray painting part.  We had a thin film of paint all over our garage.

Cooper and Cameron were great to help with the gluing part to make them look like mailboxes.  So many hands sure made light work.

August 2013

Bradley and some random pictures.  He is full of life and always looking to do something fun.  We received this cute 4-wheeler from a tenant that didn't want to take it with them when they moved.  Bradley was so excited to have it.  The battery doesn't last as long as we'd like, but it keeps him happy.  He also wanted to help me mow the lawn and I couldn't resist taking a picture.

Marshmallows are one of my kids favorite snacks especially when we roast them.  These kids are so fun to be around and make me laugh every day.  Parker is on the left and Carter on the right as they are roasting marshmallows.

Scouting is a huge part of our life with 5 boys.  We were able to attend Carter and Parker's first Court of Honor as they received some awards.  Having 4 Boy Scouts is crazy!  Carter is on the left and Parker on the right.

More of my silly Johnathan - not sure who took these photos, but I am so glad I found them.
Carter, Parker and Bradley took swimming lessons in August up at Midvale Junior High.  They progressed well and it was fun seeing them jump off the diving board after each lesson.  Bradley even got daring enough to jump when a teacher was right below him.
Fun times at Grandpa and Grandma Adamson's house - can't pass up the yummy food Grandma brings out.  While Byron was out of town and Camille was at Girl's camp, we spent the night at my parent's house.  We had fun hanging out and also going swimming at a huge swimming pool close to their house.  Carter is in blue, Parker in gray.   Allyson came over to celebrate Myles birthday while we were up.  She brought things to decorate cookies.  The kids all had a fun time together.

Johnathan's yummy creation with his name in the cookie - the more frosting the better.
I had the awesome opportunity to attend the last night of Girl's Camp for dinner and the testimony meeting.  All of the senior mom's were invited to attend.  I am so grateful for this experience with Camille.  The food was really yummy.  After I was able to participate in a faith walk.  I was along with path trying to talk girl's into staying on the rope and not letting go.  It was such a spiritual experience for me.  I have never been apart of anything like that before and could see how much of an amazing experience it was for each of the girls.  Then I was able to hear these sweet girl's testimonies along with Camille's.  What a treasured moment!!!  Camille ended up coming home with me that night since she had her Encore retreat the next day.
After girl's camp, Camille had to teach us how to make this yummy treat on the fire with an uncooked crescent roll.  It was a huge hit!  Parker on left and Carter next to Bradley - That evening the kids slept outside.  They were so excited.

Jared was able to come down and spend a few hours at our house while Danielle had something going on with her family.  It was great visiting with them.  Blake and Tavis loved the 4-wheeler.  They also loved playing with their cousins that they don't see very often.  Camille came home from work with a shake.  Cute Blake enjoyed sharing it with Camille.

August was filled with a lot of soccer games.  Here we are at a tournament for Tanner up in South Jordan.  Carter in green, Parker in gray

My funny kids playing on my phone with a Duck Dynasty app.  I couldn't resist adding these.  Parker is above and Johnathan below.

We got another swim day in with Grandpa and Grandma Adamson before school started.

The first day of school was on August 20, 2013.  Bradley was so excited to attend for the full day and to be going into 1st grade.  He laid out his clothes the night before and I had to laugh at how he did it.  He is lucky enough to have Mrs. Daly as his teacher.  Carter and Parker are going into 5th grade and have Miss Tuckett who we loved when Johnathan had her.  Parker in the light blue and Carter in orange.  Tanner is going into 9th grade - so hard to believe.  His first class of the day is early morning seminary at 7:15 a.m. so he got an early start.  Camille is going to be a senior - where did all of the time go!!!  Sure can't believe I have had this sweet girl in my life for enough years to merit her in 12th grade.  Johnathan is in 8th grade at Lehi Junior High.  After school I surprised the kids and took them to eat dinner at Panda Express.  One place that every single child is excited to eat at is this place.  They were all really happy.  What a great day~

The Jamison's came to Utah.  We had fun seeing them while the oldest were able to meet up at the Jordan River Temple and do Baptisms together.  It was a cool experience.  Dad and Mom also joined us.
For Dad's birthday I made him a carrot cake.  So glad to have this guy in my life and live close to him.
Here is a cool folder Johnathan made for his art foundations class.  It is made with his initials.  I think he did an awesome job.

What could be better than fixing sprinklers with Dad.  We had a water leak in our backyard and these two were awesome to fix it.  Byron is really good at grabbing a child to show them how to fix something.  Tanner was so intrigued and so was Bradley as he sat and watched.
