June and beginning of July happenings

Our ward was in charge of a float for the Lehi Round Up Days.  Unfortunately this fell at the same time as my family reunion.  They needed as many scouts as could come to help pull and walk behind the float. Saturday morning, June 27th, we were planning for my parent's 40th party, so just Tanner & Johnathan went to participate.  I am so glad there were those willing to take pictures so I could see at least Tanner.  He helped pull the float and looked like he had a great time.  When they first got there before the parade started, the float had a flat tire.  It wasn't looking like they would be able to even be in the parade, but miraculously everything fell into place with somebody coming and fixing it just in time.

Tanner is on the 2nd row.  Johnathan was at the back of the float carrying a flag, but didn't get any pictures of him.

After having my parents staying with us for about a week - it was sad to see them go.  It is always so much fun having them come and visit.  (Carter stripes, Parker blue)
Bradley was determined to learn how to ride without training wheels.  He felt like he could do it, but kept on leaning to one side.  We went up to the church parking lot for some practice time.  Johnathan was so nice to help him after I got worn out.  He went for a short time, but then would fall.  We ended up putting the training wheels back on - maybe next summer will be the key:).

Tanner and silly Parker while at the church.  Don't mind me - I think I just woke up:) or at least I look that way.

We enjoyed a morning at Trafalga - Parker, Johnathan, Bradley & Carter enjoying the Frog Hopper.
 Waiting for the helicopters.
Johnathan & Parker soaking wet after riding on the water boats.

Carter & Parker are really good at doing the rock climbing wall.  They have no fear of heights and could do it over and over again.

July 2 - We got up bright and early to head over to Provo to see the Balloon Festival.  We hadn't gone to this since we lived in Orem and my kids were so much younger.  It was a fun morning.  Carter, Johnathan, Parker, Camille, Tanner & Bradley.
It was so fun watching the hot air balloons get blown up - we watched this one from the start to finish.

The Darth Vader balloon was the new fun one this year.  We didn't have a very good view of it until it started going up.  The balloon ended up getting off the ground, but came down immediately in a neighborhood close by.

The Coca-Cola balloon was so fun - it is massive - very tall, but didn't ever fly because of how large it is.

We headed over to McDonald's for breakfast.
That afternoon we went to Battle Creek Falls in Pleasant Grove for a small hike as a family.  The hike was a little bit harder than I had remembered.  It was very hot and once we got down by the water, there was so much more of it than when we went last time.  It was gorgeous, though.
Byron and Tanner headed out to Scout Camp on the 4th of July so we chose to let off our fireworks on the 2nd (Saturday).  We had bought a pretty big package from Maceys and enjoyed watching them one at a time.  The kids were all so excited to light them.
Parker being able to light them for the first time.
All of the boys loved hanging out with Dad because he passed out the fireworks to light.  They were in their element with noise and fire.

That would be so fun to be in a parade. I have never been in one, not even in Corcoran.

It was so much fun to see all of the great things you were doing during the summer. I am so glad that you have this blog. I need to look at it more often.
