Rest of August activities

I enjoyed going to an Owls baseball game with the Bears I am over in Scouting.  Many of the Bears are really big into baseball, so this was a very exciting activity for them.  They were able to bring money to purchase food or buy something at the store and it was fun to see how they ended up spending their money.  A lot of the game, most of the boys went over near the outfield to catch any balls that might go over the fence.  They also had fun getting signatures from the players during the game.  I was glad we didn't lose any of them and they all seemed to have a great time.
Sego Lilly has been under reconstruction for quite some time, so it was fun to finally see the inside after all of the construction.  It was finished just in time for school to start.  All of the kids had testing before school, so we ended up spending a few hours there a week before school started.

The inside is so nice.  Carter & Parker are lucky enough to have their class in the new area.  In the entry way, there is a huge mural of tiles that the kids were able to draw last year about different books they like.  Johnathan's drawing of "Diary of Wimpy Kid" was lucky enough to make it on the mural.  He was pretty excited to show it to me.

Johnathan and Tanner's testing lasted about one hour, so we had fun playing at the playground while we were waiting.  Carter is really good at crossing the swinging bars.
We came home from church to find this huge critter on our sliding glass door.  Bradley quickly grabbed a glass jar and went outside with Byron to catch it.  Bradley was very proud of his find and even showed our Home Teachers when they came over an hour later.  I am still not sure what happened to the jar this was in since Bradley walked around with it so much.  I really hope it ended up outside and not inside.
Before school started, we spend the previous day at Thanksgiving Point Discovery Gardens.  The weather was just perfect to enjoy the outdoors.  Bradley never ceases to amaze me at his abilities.  He is so independent.  I look over to find him and this is what I find.  He has climbed up onto the drinking fountain so he can get his own drink. Luckily Carter was there to push the button for him.
 My cute kiddos!
 Watching the koi fish.
Johnathan enjoying the water a little too much :).
We spent our last weekend before school started at Highland Park fishing.  These kids never get tired of it and it is always Byron or I practically dragging them to leave.  Byron has so much patience to get all of the kid's fishing poles all set up and rarely has time to fish himself.  We really need to work on getting each kid self-reliant to get their own fishing pole taken care of - maybe a goal by next summer:)
Bradley found a stick and had fun fishing.
