McCleve & Beck Family Reunions

McCleve Family Reunion - July 29-31
We headed to Arizona for our annual McCleve Family reunion.  The trip isn't too bad of a drive and the scenery along the way is really beautiful.  The large rock formations at the bottom of Utah are so gorgeous.
The kids did pretty good on the drive with some naps along the way (Parker, Carter & Bradley).
It is great when everybody sleeps and there is peace and quiet:).
The water was one of the highlights for the kids.  There are unlimited activities available for everybody from the water.  The paddle boat and kayaks were a huge hit.  Here Ashlyn, Camille, Parker & Carter are having fun together.
Eric was great to go out on this cool floating dock with the kids and play with them.
Sometimes they would all fall off and it would get scary, but luckily nobody got hurt.
These cool swings were also a huge hit.  Tanner and Cameron getting a ride.

Cadan & Bradley were practically inseparable the whole reunion.  They loved being able to play with each other nonstop for 3 days.

The Beck Family clan that all came - we missed some of the families this year that had prior commitments.

Our family - Tricia, Byron, Tanner, Johnathan, Camille, Parker, Carter & Bradley.

Every year they have a horseshoe tournament.  This year Byron & I played together - Byron was nice to want to be my partner since I really am not good at all.

Byron threw quite the horseshoe - it landed pretty much straight up and down.  I couldn't believe that it wasn't even touching the pole.

Bradley enjoying a tire swing.

Another day of water play and Byron joined them this time.

Cadan, Jeff & Mom Beck enjoying a leisure ride.
Parker was having such a fun time in the kayak -  He actually could maneuver it pretty well.
Carter looking like a pro on the water.
Byron, Bradley & I on a paddle boat enjoying some water time.
Camille
Parker fishing waiting to see what his prize will be.
Cadan & Bradley eating dinner together.
Tanner is being so patient while fishing -he never did catch anything, but found some cool crawdads in the water.

Late at night as we were playing some card games under the pavilion area, there was this really cool frog that jumped up next to the pavilion as it was watching us.  I luckily got a picture before the kids scared it away.

We had a great time together.  The worst part was the constant rain that we received every afternoon through evening.  We had so much mud caked on our shoes each evening.  Luckily our tent was pretty good to keep us dry, other than a few places where it dripped in where stuff was touching the outside of the tent.  The downpours were pretty amazing as it almost looked like a river was running through our camp at times.  Luckily every morning the sun would come out and dry everything out until the next downpour.  I had never experienced quite that much rain while sleeping in a tent.  It was a pretty crazy, but made for a memorable reunion:).

Uncle Fred & Aunt Sheila did an amazing job at planning everything.  There were 100+ of us there and everything ran so smoothly.  This was the first year where we had to provide our own meals.  It ended up working out really good, though.

At the talent show, Camille sang "Gimme Gimme" and we sang as a family, "That's What Families Do."  Camille got quite the compliments and really did an amazing job!  I love to hear her sing and really don't think I could get sick of it.

On the way home, I looked back and found Parker with the remnants of duct tape on his face.  He didn't even realize that it had left a residue - I couldn't quit laughing and had to get him a mirror for him to see himself.  It was funny to hear him laughing about it also.  Luckily it all came off - what a bored kid will do:).

John Beck Family Reunion - August 12-14
We had our 2nd reunion with this family. Melissa was in charge and did a fabulous job! We went to Camp Timberlane. During the day the weather was perfect.  Camp Timberlane is pretty secluded, which was great to have so much privacy.

Camille was put in charge of the campfire music.  She did an awesome job putting together some camp books that had about 8 songs to sing each night.  We had a great time singing these fun songs.  One of the songs was "tutti ta"- which made for some fun pics.

Carter, Parker, Dad & Mom Beck singing.

Bradley roasting his marshmallow.

While we were up in the mountains, there was an awesome meteor shower.  Eric was nice to join the kids in his truck to look for them.  Poor Carter got so frustrated that everybody kept seeing them and he couldn't.  Luckily after this picture was taken he saw quite a few.  The stars were so brilliant in the sky - it was really fun to watch.

Parker & Bradley before bed.

Parker, Ashlyn & Carter eating breakfast together.

Camping wouldn't be the same without bubble blowing with Grandma.

Bradley was playing in the dirt previous to this pic and got so dirty.  There is nothing like the dirt that comes with camping.

We went on a fun hike together - Cooper & Tanner were having fun together.

Uncle Eric was really nice to give the kids rides in his truck as he went to dump trash or carry things around.

This fort made hours of fun for these kids.  They found it upon arriving at camp and pretty much were playing in it as we were driving away. (Ashlyn, Carter, Parker, Alyssa & Bradley)

Cameron & Johnathan found this tee pee and had fun playing in it also.

Tanner & Ashlyn had to eat all of the whip cream on this plate.  I got a laugh out of Tanner looking like he was going to throw up because it tasted to awful.  With is expressions I thought it was shaving cream or something terrible tasting.

Carter & Sharon had to see how fast they could get these balloons out of the box by sucking air into the straw.  It was really fun to watch.

Johnathan got an eating challenge - he had to see how many of these pretzels he could eat in an allotted amount of time.

Sarah & I had to see if we could tell what items were in the bowls by using our sense of smell and touch.  When your eyes are covered, it is amazing how strong our other senses are.

Jeff was chewing up some gum to see if he could blow a bubble first.  I got the funnest picture of him.

Carter & Parker had to see if they could find the red swedish fish in the bowl full of oreos.  Their heads got covered with cookies.

Camille & Eric had to see how many lemons they could eat in a certain time.  The faces were pretty funny to see as they were chowing down;).

Thanks Melissa for an awesome reunion!  We had such a great time together.

What fun reunions. I want to go to the place where the McCleve reunion was, looks like so much fun! I would not want to leave either.
