October Activities

JOHNATHAN CANDY - The elementary school had a guessing jar where the kid that guessed closest won the candy.  Johnathan came home with the jar so excited that he won it.  He was one happy boy especially since candy is one of his downfalls:).

CAMILLE HALLOWEEN PARTY -Camille was invited to a Halloween party back at the beginning of the month.  She had fun being a 60's girl.
THANKSGIVING POINT FARM COUNTRY -Becki Wilcox and I decided to meet up at the farm country.  We had a great time together.  The weather was awesome and we had a great time together. Taylee and Bradley were excited to ride the ponies.  Eli didn't want anything to do with them, so he just sat and watched - poor boy.  Each kid was able to feed the animals with the corn we bought.  They loved looking for more each time they ran out by looking on the floor.  The Halloween decorations were really cute.

GARDNER VILLAGE - We met up with Emily and her kids during UEA break.  I had never seen it so crowded before.  I guess it is better to go in the evenings since that is always when we have gone and it isn't crowded at all.  It took us about 15 minutes to just find a parking space.
Tanner, Carter, Parker, Johnathan, Camille & Bradley
Cadan & Bradley being silly together.

This cute witch is coming in for a landing right on top of Camille :)
The witches all over the place are so creative and cute.  We had fun trying to find them all throughout the village.

Camille
Tanner got a kick out of this one because she is eating a hotdog.
Parker & Carter
Cadan & Bradley were going back and forth to see if they could pick up each other.  They both did really good at carrying their own weight.

Ashlyn, Alyssa & Camille relaxing on the swinging chair.

Johnathan &  I - I just love the witch that hit the building.  This is probably one of my favorite.

We had such a great time.  It was sad not having Byron with us since I have never gone without him, but fun to get the kids together with their cousins and visit with Emily.

CHUCK-E-CHEESE - Byron went to Asia for 10 days.  He came back on Oct. 15th in the morning.  Since it was UEA break, the kids had that day off.  We went up to Chuck-E-Cheese to spend some fun with Byron home.  It is always such a relief and nice to have Byron finally back.  He traveled to around 5 countries, so there were so many possibilities to have problems.  I get really nervous with all the travel and not being able to contact Byron very well.  So a relief it definitely was when Byron got home.

The kids all had plenty of tokens to spend.
Tanner & Parker
The pizza was delicious.
Bradley getting help from Byron.

ST. REGIS HOTEL - Byron got home on Friday from Asia and had to head up to Park City Sunday evening for a 3-day training.  He invited me to join him Sunday night at the hotel and then head back in the morning when his training started.  Luckily Mom Beck was gracious enough to stay with the kids so I could get away with Byron.

As we were driving around looking for the St. Regis Hotel, we came upon a huge resort that was on the top of the hill.  It had a tram (funicular) going up hill from the lower hotel to the upper hotel.  It looked pretty impressive.  Byron teasing said, "That is our hotel."  After driving around for a little bit longer, Byron finally saw the name next to this amazing resort.  We almost couldn't believe that we would be staying in this place.  As we pulled up to the circle driveway, a man came out to valet park our vehicles.

After checking in, we headed with our luggage to the funicular.  It was like an elevator as we pushed the button and waited for it to come down the mountain to pick us up.  As the door opened, there were leather seats and a beautiful view with a glass window in front of us.  It was pretty cool to go up the side of the mountain.
Waiting for the funicular.

Inside as we were travelling up the side of the mountain.

After getting to the top, a worker welcomed us and walked us to our room.
Our room had some of the coolest features.  It has a tv that can be turned on in the bathroom mirror.  I had to take a picture - one part of our room that my kids wouldn't have believed had I not taken a picture.
Our room was very nice!

The view was so pretty from our room.
The lobby areas were so extravagent and beautiful!

We walked outside to get a feel for all that the resort offerred.  The grounds were really pretty.

Outside was a heated pool that was really pretty.  If it hadn't been a Sunday, we might have attempted since it was heated.
We ate dinner at the J & G Grill in the hotel.   This place was very nice.  We had a waiter all to ourself that served only us - I had never experienced that before.  He would wait in the corner of the room and if he saw that we were all done with the menus he would run over to take our orders.  When we were done with the first part of our meal, he would run over to get rid of our used plates.
The food was really good also - it was pretty pricy, but fun to splurge once in a while.  This butternut squash soup was heavenly!  I was so glad I chose to get it.  I also got a tomato, mozzarella & basil pizza that was good.

Byron's Beef tipped meal - it also had a gritt which I had never tried before - very different.  The portions were so small, but pretty filling.

We had such a great evening relaxing and spending that quality time together that happens without any children to interrupt.

Monday morning Byron's breakfast/training started around 8:30 a.m.  My van brought to me at the upper part of the hotel instead of me having to ride the funicular back down.  I was glad I was able to find my way along the streets so I could get a picture at the bottom of the resort.  It was so massive and beautiful.

I had fun hanging out until the Tanger Outlets opened up and enjoyed shopping for about one hour.  I then headed back home to find Bradley loving every minute he had with his Grandma.  They were making cards with her Cricut machine and he didn't even seem to miss me.

Thanks again Mom Beck for sacrificing your time for us - even though I wasn't even gone for 24 hours, it was great to get that much needed break.

It amazes me how much you can pack into your days. I loved the wonderful Halloween decorations and that resort looked like a dream get away. I'm glad that you were able to have that quiet time together after so many days apart.
