Hawaii Day 3

December 10, 2011 - Saturday – We enjoyed sleeping in until around 9 a.m. We hurried and got ready so we could catch the bus around 10 a.m. at the bus station just about 1 block away. We waited for quite some time and it finally came only to see that we would be standing most of the one hour drive to Aloha Stadium. More and more people kept on getting on the bus – I was beginning to feel claustrophobic. Many got off at a shopping center and then more at the Arizona Memorial. I was lucky enough to sit after 30 minutes and Byron finally got to around 50 minutes. It was kind of crazy. The only good thing about that was the cost – where you put the money in on the bus was broken, so we got to ride for free.

After arriving at Aloha Stadium, we went to get some food first thing since we had skipped breakfast and it was close to lunch time. We ate a BBQ chicken and meatball sandwich. Then we had fun shopping at the booths for 3 hours. The rain came and went quite a few times while there, luckily there were covered areas to go so we didn’t get soaked. We stayed until they closed at 3 p.m. We found a bus that was going straight back to Waikiki for $5/person and opted for that over the other bus that made many stops along the way. We got into a huge tour bus and enjoyed our relaxing trip back while sitting down. There was so much traffic that instead of taking 30 minutes to get back, it took about 50 minutes, but it was fine since we were able to relax and enjoy the ride.

We ate at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. I had never eaten there and was so excited to try their lettuce wraps that I had heard people rave about. It ordered them as my main meal instead of an appetizer and was so happy – they were delicious. Byron got shepards pie and wasn’t happy with it. He had that before but said it tasted different this time. I also got a piece of strawberry cheesecake that I took back to our room to eat – it was delicious.

Upon walking out of the restaurant, we noticed it had been pouring outside. We were glad to have an umbrella and headed over to the International Market for a little more shopping. The rain didn’t let up at all and showed as we were heading back to our hotel – the gutters were so full with water we had to step inside the huge puddles to get across. Luckily we weren’t very far away from the hotel. We both enjoyed working out in the weight room. I tried the elliptical and got a great workout. I love how I felt different muscles and areas were being worked compared to the treadmill. After eating my cheesecake, I needed to work off some of those calories.

A huge bag we purchased to hold all of our things inside.
Byron & I love watching Hawaii Five O.  It was fun to see this statue since the show always starts by showing it.
Bus ride home after going to the swap meet.
My yummy food at Cheesecake Factory - it was massive!
