Beck Family Reunion - July 8-10th

The Beck Reunion was held this year at Vega State Park in Colorado. Uncle Ken & his family were in charge. The area was absolutely gorgeous! We arrived on July 8th to a light rain that luckily left pretty soon after we arrived. We set up our tent and enjoyed visiting with the family that was there. The camp sight had a really nice play area for the kids to enjoy. It was a great tool to help them wind down in the evenings.
Jump roping was a must!
Riley, Johnathan & Cameron all watching Johnathan play his new DS's that he got with his birthday/own money.
Friday was Johnathan's 10th birthday. He got some awesome gifts along with tons of candy. I also had a muffin for him which had a candle inside. I tried my best to help make it a special day for him since he wasn't very excited to spend his birthday camping.

There were some gorgeous blue birds that would fly all over next to our tent area.
Byron finishing up cooking breakfast.
Cooper & Tanner enjoying some cousin time.
Melissa, Bradley, Camille, Cadan & Mom Beck took a walk around the camping area.
We went for a beautiful hike on Friday - the vegetation was just gorgeous! We aren't sure how long we walked, but figure it was probably 1 1/2 - 2 miles one way. The path ended at the water's edge where we stayed for a short time. While there, Johnathan was using Tanner's pocket knife. He ended up cutting a pretty good gouge into his finger. Luckily Emily Beck (who didn't go on the hike with us) decided to head out in her van to find us. She got to us just as we turned onto the road heading back to camp and had a first aid kit with her. Thank goodness for her since we had nothing with us close by.

Pictures along the way on our hike.
Parker, Bradley & Eric
We had fun playing some games in a huge field. All of the kids were involved along with some of the fun adults:).
Crafts were a must for the kids. They made some cool bracelets or necklaces.
We went to a small market inside of Vega Park to enjoy some ice-cream for Johnathan's birthday. While there we saw some really cool hummingbirds. We probably saw around 100 of them flying around at these bird feeders. I was amazed at how close we could get to them before they would fly away.
Johnathan with his ice-cream - birthday boy!
The server brought out this funny stuffed animal that sang "Happy Birthday." We all got a good laugh.
The area was so pretty with wild flowers all over.
Bradley & Cadan getting down and dirty.
We had to get a family picture while there. (Bradley, Carter, Parker, Camille, Johnathan, Tricia, Byron and Tanner)
Byron & Tanner playing horseshoes.
We were really close to Vega Reservoir where we could fish. Parker is enjoying himself.
All of the kids thought it would be great to catch crawdads. Luckily Eric was nice enough to catch them. They were all over near the shore hiding under the rocks.

We were all enjoying the beauty of the water and of relaxing in the outdoors.
The kids also had a fun making place mats.

Camille was nice enough to make balloons for the kids - here Carter is showing off his cool new balloon hat.
Eric & Bradley were practically inseparable.

We had a great time together. Uncle Ken and his family did such a great job putting it all on.

What a cool family reunion. Ashley got a pocket knife a couple of months ago with the knowledge of if she ever opens it we get it again. Yes, mean parents. But, we warned her when she bought it that she was not old enough and she would have to wait.
